As it has been quite some time since my last post about the Sailor Moon anime, I thought it was time for an update!
Here is the information we know so far – I will be sure to keep this updated as information is released:
- It has been confirmed that the new Sailor Moon anime will premiere in July 2014
- It will stream simultaneously worldwide online via NicoNico.
- The online streaming of the episodes will be subtitled in 10 languages all of which will have the original Japanese audio.
- This second anime adaptation ofBishōjo Senshi Sailor Moon is not remaking the previous anime, but adapting Naoko Takeuchi’s original manga and starting from scratch again.
- The band Momoiro Clover Z will be singing the opening and closing theme songs.
- The CD has been formally announced – However more information is still due to drop.
- TOEI will be in charge of animation.
- Atsutoshi Umezawa is the producer of the series.
- Yuji Kobayashi will be in charge of scripts/planning.
- The director of the series is Munehisa Sakai.
Naturally there is still a lot to be found out about the series including basic info such as what the animation style will be, what voice actors are secured and how many episodes the series will run for; but good things come to those who wait, right moonies?
